SERI Methods to Measure the Vulnerability of Shallot Farming to Climate Change in Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan

This study analyses the vulnerability of shallot farming to climate change in Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan. Data collection methods this consisted questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observations, documentation, and a literature review. The SERI (shock–exposure–response–impact) analysis method was used analyse Regency. results showed that is main shock Extreme weather, namely, extreme rainfall events, causes water become stagnant (flood) so roots fruit rot. These exposures extensively decreased harvest (harvest failure) sale price shallots (loss), most farmers did not plant again. Shallot responded shocks occurred by planting shallots; however, some focused extra attention on practices, but almost all switched other commodity crops. impact these were decreases/losses income increases costs. Buffer capacities can be implemented reduce impacts are (1) using healthy clean superior varieties resistant weather events pest invasions; (2) setting cropping schedules patterns; (3) increasing capacity through education training, especially terms how conduct during properly control pests diseases.
